Nintendo Says 'Wii Has Stalled', Press Piles On

Poor Nintendo, the Wii can't catch a break. It's been the number one selling console for years, but you wouldn't know it from the dearth of news sites that bother to cover the thing seriously. The system's consistently beat the odds time and again--well, the analyst cobbled together ones, anyway--and gone on to outflank all the pundits, including yours truly.

All that, without so much as a pat on the back from the hardcore snobs.
Maybe you've heard the Wii hasn't been doing so hot of late. Nintendo's operating income is reportedly down some 59 percent year over year, Wii sales have plummeted 43 percent for the same period, and the company's Wii full year sales forecasts just nosedived 26 to 20 million.

Sony to Release The PS3 Slim Version?

According to Amazon, Sony PS3 is about to come out with a new look. Actually an extremely different look. The German Amazon has listings for a "Playstation 3 Konsole Slim".

On the site the Playstation 3 is listed as an independent platform. And it is even shown that it has it's own Amazon Standard Identification Number. But Amazon.de has disclosed any price, details and even images.

In my own opinion, well problems would arise again as to how to make the ps3 stand even on extreme length of gaming. Well it's all up to the Sony guys on how they would fit all that stuff into a tiny enclosure.

Bottom line: Because people are still buying games. The most recent report from the NPD Group shows that despite the recession and the cratering retail environment, game hardware, software and accessories were up 19 percent in 2008. Even if their wallets are light, says analyst Todd Greenwald, this data shows that gamers will pay retail for their favorite titles.
